Barn Home Application

While our primary mission is Trap‑Neuter‑Return (TNR), there are rare occasions when a community cat cannot be safely returned to its original location. This may happen if the area is unsafe, the cat is in imminent danger, or the environment is no longer suitable for long‑term survival. In these situations, we work to place these cats in responsible barn homes where they can safely live.
A suitable barn home must provide safe shelter with elevated spaces for the cats to escape predators, along with fresh food and clean water every day throughout the year. Barn cats are working cats, but they still rely on humans for basic care and protection.
Cats need time to adjust to their new surroundings before being released into the barn environment. We can provide large dog crates and necessary supplies to help you safely confine them for a minimum of two weeks. This acclimation period is essential—it helps the cats recognize the barn as their new home and greatly increases their chances of staying.
All barn cats in our program are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear‑tipped to indicate they have been altered. Because barn cats thrive with companionship and feel more secure in pairs, we typically place two cats together. There is no adoption fee for barn cats, and in return, they provide a natural, chemical‑free form of pest control that benefits the entire property.
