VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH SCRATCH, INC.

FOSTERING

Being a foster parent can include bottle feeding newborns, socializing cats and kittens, caring for the sick or injured, housing a litter of kittens, working with behavior issues, taking care of a mama cat with babies, or just offering a space of your home for cats and kittens awaiting adoption. It is definitely a commitment and there are some requirements and training involved, but if this is what you are looking for then click here to fill out an application.

TNR

TNR or Trap-Neuter-Return is our main mission. We formed this organization to educate the community on the benefits of spay and neuter, especially in the homeless cat population. Obviously, we wish every cat could have a home of their own, but since this is not possible, we hope to reduce the number of homeless cats by doing targeted TNR. We work on one or two colonies at a time until they are all altered. We can also train the caretaker of the colony to do TNR and thanks to many grants at places like Chattaneuter and McKamey, the spay/neuter and rabies vaccination is often free. Volunteer opportunities with our TNR team are, trapping, transporting, recovering, releasing, and educating. Please go here to learn more about TNR.
